Bob
Ferguson lives with his wife Colleen and their newborn twins,
Jack and Katie, in the Maple Leaf neighborhood of District 1.
Bob was first elected to the King County Council in 2003 and
re-elected in November 2005 with 74 percent of the vote. In just
a few years in office, Bob has developed a reputation for being
King Countys most accessible elected official.
Bob is considered a Council expert on election reform. He successfully
created an independent audit of King County Elections. Bobs
top priorities are restoring our confidence in King County Elections,
improving transportation, preserving open space, protecting human
services, streamlining the King County budget, and making sure
our regions emergency preparedness is the best in the country.
Bob grew up on Queen Anne Hill, a fourth generation Washingtonian and the sixth of seven children born to Betty and the late Murray Ferguson. Bob's great-grandparents homesteaded on the Skagit River, near what is now Marblemount, in the 19th century. His parents met in Everett while attending 9th grade.
